An easy guide to prevent and reduce skin wrinkles

Skin is the most looked after part of our body and plays a markable stand in defining the beauty of any person. Having good and healthy skin is desired by almost all of us and aids our appearance and confidence. 

As the age moves further, our skin starts losing a vital component called collagen, which is very helpful in maintaining the elasticity of our skin, and thus wrinkles and fine lines start to appear. It is because of the collagen we can see the difference in the skin of a young child and an aged person. 

Apart from aging, there are many factors related to our lifestyle habits like smoking, improper diet etc., which can speed up the appearance of wrinkles. Let’s read below some of the ways which can help to prevent and reduce the appearance of skin wrinkles. 

  1. Protection from sunrays: Excessive exposure of our skin to UV rays from sun can accelerate wrinkle formation. It is highly recommended to protect our skin from the sun by applying a sunscreen cream with a minimum SPF 30 and, wear protective clothing like hats, sunglasses or face cover during peak hours and even on cloudy days also. 
  1. Retinoids: They are chemical components derived from Vitamin A and are available in different forms based on their strengths e.g., retinol, tretinoin. Retinoids are known to improve the appearance of skin and reduce fine lines by increasing the collagen production in skin.  Apart from reducing wrinkles, retinoids reduce hyperpigmentation of skin and give a uniform skin tone. Retinoids are also known to scrap old skin cells and promote the formation of new ones, which adds up in renewing of skin. 
  1. Moisturizers: Apply good moisturizer as per your skin dryness, to hydrate it. Moisturizers containing hyaluronic acid or glycerin are very good in retaining moisture and help in reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Try to include green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, nuts, eggs and milk products in your daily food regime. Overall, a diet rich in vitamins, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids can be very beneficial in overall health of skin.  
  1. Multivitamin Supplements: In our hectic life schedule, we may miss out on eating essential vegetables and fruits, so adding a multivitamin supplement can be very beneficial. Supplements containing vitamin A, vitamin B-complex, vitamin C, vitamin E, Omega 3, biotin, iron can be very useful.
